Huntersville, NC – Following a shocking defeat to its I-485 rival Rocky River in the third round of last season’s North Carolina state playoffs, The Vikings of North Meck (1-0) were eager to get back home and open up it’s 2018-2019 season in a meaningful way.  6’3 Junior guard Tristan Maxwell played lights out Monday evening in front of a sold out home crowd in Huntersville,NC defeating Harding (0-1) 88-61.

Son of two time NBA champion Vernon Maxwell, who spent his most notable years playing along side Hakeem Olajuwon and the Houston Rockets, Tristan Maxwell led the way for the Vikings with 21 points and six rebounds. The strong 6’3 guard enforced his will on the Rams, hitting contested jumpers and slashing to the rim with deceptive speed, forcing the Rams to play at a tempo in which it could not keep up with. The Vikings jumped out to a huge 53-32 lead by halftime and never looked back.

The Vikings will be in action Friday night at home against Concord’s Jay M. Robinson (1-0) as it will host it’s Leroy Holden Classic Thanksgiving Tournament.
