Charlotte – The Charlotte 49ers men’s basketball continues to move its program in the right direction bringing back former 49er and one of the top high school coaches in the Charlotte-Metro area, Byron Dinkins as Director of Player Development..
The 50 year old Dinkins comes on board after 8 seasons coaching high school basketball at Northside Christian Academy and Carmel Christian School. In all eight seasons, Dinkins teams’ have reached the state title game, four which resulted in state championships.
In Dinkins, the 49ers not only bring back one of their own but they bring in a coach with a reputation for execution, hard work and discipline. A critical trait needed by a program looking to get back to the NCAA tournament for the first time since 2005.
