Charlotte, NC –  In a contest featuring two teams playing its first game of the 2018 season, The Mustangs of Myers Park (0-1) appeared to be sailing towards a road victory Tuesday night at Olympic (1-0). Leading by as many as 14 points in the third quarter, the Mustangs spread the ball around arc, knocking down open three point baskets that appeared to deflate the Trojans.

During the fourth quarter however, the Mustangs went cold, misfiring on several open jumpers that allowed the Trojans to creep back into the ball game. After taking a 57-55 lead with 4 seconds left to go in the game, Myers Park combo guard Caleb McReed missed the game-tying shot at the buzzard, causing a wild celebration in the Trojan bleachers.

Olympic will be in action this Friday night at home against Nation Ford before they hit the road for consecutive games to take on two of the top teams in the state in Independence and Cox Mill.
